CBS News' Reported Raped Covering Egypt Protests - PEOPLE PLEASE!!!!

CBS News' reporter Lara Logan was beaten and sexually assaulted while in the streets of Egypt reporting for CBS news when her and the news crew were "surrounded by a dangerous element of more than 200 people" and was brutally beaten and sexually assaulted on the streets in public. She was saved by a small group of nearby women and a reported 2 dozen Egyptian soldiers. She immediately returned home and both CBS and the Logan family are respectfully asking for privacy during this recovery process. My heart goes out to her and everyone this will touch in her family and friends. One thing though....

I am hearing more and more stories of people selecting the middle east as their destination of travel despite the fact that area's general anti-western ideology. Students accidentally crossing borders then jailed, reporters getting beheaded, and horrific events like this Logan assault. With the political climate the way it is, the Islam heavy region that just hates the west, it just doesnt make sense to be anywhere near the place; It seems like common sense to me. I am definitely not saying any of these people in the stories we have been hearing about deserve what has happened to them. I am just really confused about what seems fairly basic and common sense to me.

Oh, and guess what.....sending a young attractive blond lady into an unstable region to cover riots so that when TV viewers are switching thru channels they might stop when you see the lively cute blond covering the mayhem behind her. CBS, shame on you for not sending less of a target to cover the Egyptian protests so you could boost your ratings. Anyways, everyone makes their choices. but for anyone considering the Middle East as a vacation destination..... my guess is, stay the FUCK out.
